Dorothy Seger


Dorothy Seger was born September 2, 1895 to Hiram and Sarah Seger. She grew up in Cheboygan, Michigan, but moved to Detroit where she married Leonard H. Pratt on July 4, 1919.

From 1930 to 1960, Dorothy worked as a clerk in the Detroit Public Library. She was a member of Dunning Park Chapel.

Leonard died December 26, 1934 leaving Dorothy with three children under 15 years of age. Dorothy died in September 21, 1980 in Battle Creek, Michigan as she was visiting her daughter from her home in Redford. She is survived by her three children, and grandchildren.

Mrs. Leonard G. Pratt Mrs. Dorothy B. (Seger) Pratt, 85, of Redford, died Sunday in Leila Hospital, where she had been a patient since Sept. 6. She was in Battle Creek during July visiting her daughter, Mrs. Robert W. (Dalma) Brown of 24 Country Club Drive, and returned Labor Day weekend. She was born in Cheboygan and was employed as a clerk in the Detroit Public Library and retired in 1960 after 30 years of service. She was a member of Dunning Park Chapel of the Plymouth Brethren Church. Her husband, Leonard G. Pratt, preceded her in death. She is survived by daughters, Mrs. Brown, and Mrs. John B. (Patricia) Jackson of Rochester; a son, Dewey G. Pratt of Union Lake; and three grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Plymouth Brethren Church.
