George Clark Seger

George Clark Seger was the second oldest child of Hiram and Sarah Seger. The oldest was a still born son. George was born on September 30, 1884. He was raised in Cheboygan, Michigan. In approximately 1909, he married Gertrude Stewart. They had a son, Stewart, in 1911. In 1913, George's grandfather Seger, a civil war veteran, came to visit. He had a stroke just after arriving, and died about two months later.

His 1917 War Registration card shows that he worked as a Life Insurer for Prudential Insurance. George was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. He attended a state convention in Detroit with his family in 1919. The family also travelled to Blind River, Ontario in 1926 where Gertrude's mother lived.

George died on September 13, 1933 at the age of 48 in Alpena, Michigan where they had settled. Gertrude died in January 1953. He is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Alpena with his wife and son Stewart.
