Edwin E. Cook was born to Captain Elmer and Etta Cook on October 30, 1906 in Michigan.

He married Ida Beach on June 20, 1937. Ida's obituary says 1936, but the marriage record says 1937. Edwin's brother Levane was one of the witnesses to the wedding which was held in Cheboygan. Edwin was an electrician and Ida was a waitress when they were married.

They had three children - Gary, Sylvia, and Bruce.

Edwin died in 1988 in Cheboygan after 51 years of marriage. Ida was 104 years of age when she died in Mackinaw City in December of 2016.
