Gertrude Little
Gertrude was born to James Henry and Mary Jane Little on February 5, 1870 in South Pontiac, Quebec.
When she was less than a year old, the family moved to Parry Sound, Ontario.
In 1894, on September 12, she married a 33 year old blacksmith by the name of George Nelson Smith in Parry Sound. They had 13 children including one that died in the first six months.
George died June 20, 1915 at the age of 58 from peritonitis caused by a duodenal ulcer. Gertrude later moved to Toronto where she died on December 12, 1930 at the age of 60 from Acute Cerebral Apoplexy. She was buried in Prospect Cemetery in Toronto.
