Cora Smith, originally named Susie, was born June 13, 1908 in Foley Township near Parry Sound, Ontario. She was the daughter of George and Gertrude Smith. In 1930, Gertrude certified that Susie's name was really Cora, and the birth record was changed. The 1921 census lists her as Susan.

In 1932, Cora was working as a cashier in Toronto when she married a chef who had immigrated from Scotland named Stanley Robertson on March 25. They had three sons - Don, Jim and Cal.

Cora died on June 25, 1986 at the age of 78. One source says that Stanley was 70 when he died in 1977. However, I believe he may have died sooner as the newspaper article did not mention him when Calvin was married in 1964.
