Russell Harrington

Russell Harrington was born on June 25, 1890 to William and Tillie Harrington at Mullet Lake, Cheboygan, Michigan. He was the youngest of their children. The family moved to East Jordan when Russell was young, and he grew up there.

In January 1916 Russell travelled to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan to visit his sister and her family. He returned to Michigan in July of that same year. He then moved to Flint, Michigan to work as a motor tester for the Chevrolet Motor Company.

Russell married Hazel Cummings in Charlevoix on September 19, 1917. They settled in Flint where Russell was working.

Russell's obituary says he was in the employ of Chevrolet for the last twelve years of his life. He joined the military in June 1918, reporting to Camp Custer, but was released from duty due to a defective arm. The 1920 census says he was a Butter Maker at the Creamery.

On July 3, 1929 Russell died from a complication of diseases at the age of 39. He was survived by his wife, three children - Donald, Gilbert, Barbara - all under 10 years of age, and his parents, one brother, and three sisters. He was buried at Sunset Hills Memorial in Flint, Michigan. Hazel remarried to Roy Ruddock, and died in 1984 at the age of 91.
