Frederick Randolph MacPherson was the first born child of JP and Barbara MacPherson. He was born in Englehart, Ontario, but moved to Calgary for his early years, and then back to Englehart for his teen years.

Randolph married Ruby Grant and had six children. He died in 1981. Ruby died in 1985. They are buried together in the Englehart Public Cemetery.
