RT MacPherson

Richard Robert Thomas MacPherson ('RT') was born December 14, 1888 in Frontenac County near Sharbot Lake, Ontario.

He was the second child of Joseph and Lizzie MacPherson and grew up on a farm at Concession 10 lot 16 Olden township, next to his grandfather Duncan's farm, and near his uncle's farm.

On April 3, 1912 he married a school teacher by the name of Alma Coutts Detlor in Harrowsmith, Ontario, though the marriage licence was obtained in Olden Township. They had known each other about a year before getting married. Their father's farms were about 35 km apart in the 1911 census, but Harrowsmith was over 50 km from either farm.

Soon afterward, RT and Alma moved to Northern Ontario. By 1921, they had two children, Detlor and Uarda. RT's parents, Joseph and Lizzie, and his younger sister Ethel Mae were also living in Dack Township near Englehart, Ontario. RT's brother JP was in Calgary, Alberta, but later moved to Englehart as well.

On June 28, 1927 RT died from Lobar Pneumonia at the age of 38. He was buried two days later in the Englehart Cemetery.
