Jane Bell was the youngest child of Raymond and Ethel Sweet. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on October 9, 1925.

On June 20, 1944 she married John Arndt Jr. They had three children together - Dennis, Raymond, and Calleen.

John died in 1993, and Jane died on February 16, 2008 in Midland, Michigan at the age of 82 outliving both her sons.

Jane C. Arndt, 82, of Midland, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at the MidMichigan Medical Center.

She was born on Oct. 9, 1925, in Muskegon, the daughter of the late Raymond and Ethel (Sweet) Bell. The former Jane Bell married John Arndt Jr. on June 20, 1944, in Midland. He died on July 28, 1993. Jane enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, family and friends and enjoyed camping up north.

She is survived by one daughter, Calleen (Greg) Hartnagle of Midland; four grandchildren, Deana (Jason) Crane, Amanda Hartnagle, Eric Hartnagle and Robert "Sam" (Isadora) Reid; and many friends, including her best friend of over 60 years, Lucille Johnson Garigen. In addition to her parents and husband, Jane was predeceased by two sons Raymond on Sept. 17, 2006, and Dennis on Dec. 1, 1989; and two brothers, William and Jack Bell.

Funeral services will take place 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler St. Jane's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
