Alfred Badger


Alfred Badger was the third child of James Parker and Phoebe (Clay) Badger.  His older two siblings were born in England, but he was born in Ontario in 1852.  In 1861 they lived in Stamford Township in Welland County.  By 1871 they had moved to Parry Sound where he lived for the rest of his life.

Alfred married Isabella Milne on October 8, 1873 in Parry Sound.  He was listed as a carpenter on their marriage records. He was one of the first school board members for SS#2 Foley in 1873. In the next 22 years they had 12 children. After Isabella died in 1895, Alfred remarried on February 28, 1900 to Margaret (McAllister) McMullen. Alf's daughter Ellen also married that day to Margaret's younger brother Charles McAllister.

Alf outlived Margaret who died in 1916.  Alf died on May 13, 1918 from arteriosclerosis myocarditis and is buried in a cemetery in Parry Sound.
