Bruce was born to Robert and Nellie Shave on January 30, 1941.

He died on July 26, 2009 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I will always remember Bruce: from our time at Mortimer's talking with one another, to seeing him around the neighborhood, and his paintings. I will forever treasure the personalized and illustrated poem he wrote me. RIP Bruce. Love, Krissy
