Elizabeth Cook - obituary

Elizabeth M. Cook, 83, of Cheboygan, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Evergreen Living Center in St. Ignace. A lifelong resident of Cheboygan, Elizabeth was born August 13, 1928 in Cheboygan, the daughter of Frank and Mary Ellen (Stegall) McDonald. She married Levane Cook, who preceded her in death in 1976. During World War II, she had been employed at the Garment Factory in Cheboygan. She was a devout Christian, and was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church in Cheboygan, and loved her son, her dog, her church family, and the color purple. Surviving are her son, Curtis E. Cook, and his wife Brenda, of Indian River, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Levane, she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Jennie in 1982, two sisters, and three brothers. A memorial service will be held at the 7th Day Adventist Church in Cheboygan in early April. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
