David Williams

David Williams was born in  Glastonbury, Connecticut on October 14, 1741 to Samuel Williams and Susannah Fox who were also both born in Connecticut. Other family names in the Williams family include Stebbins, Waterhouse, Douglas, and Atwood. Apparently the Williams were originally Kimberlys, but the name was dropped in North America by Thomas Williams Kimberly who named his son Samuel Williams, the grandfather of David.

David married Sarah Wallis in 1760.

David served as a Sergeant in Major Jessup's Corps in the United States War for Independence. As a United Empire Loyalist he was granted 700 acres in 1790 in Ernestown, Ontario.

David died on June 29, 1805 at the age of 63 and is buried in Saint John’s Anglican Church Cemetery in Bath (Kingston), Ontario. Sarah died in 1821.
