Kathleen Awcock

Kathleen (Kay) Awcock was born in England on October 18, 1915.  She married Leighton Nicholl on May 4, 1938 and resided in Langley, British Columbia for the rest of her life.

They had two children - Evelyn and David and two granddaughters - Megan and Sarah.

Kay was quite involved in her community, from the PTA to the Women's Community Institute.  For her last four years, she resided at Mongolia Gardens and died on July 23, 2012 at the age of 96 outliving Leighton by 12 years.

The Family regrets to announce the sudden passing of Kay at the age of 96 years. She was a resident of Langley since 1938 when she married Leighton. Leighton predeceased her in March of 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn(Dale) Jensen, son David (Jane) and granddaughters Megan (Andrew Berg) and Sarah.

Mom was very community minded and took part in the P.T.A., United Church Women and still held the "Sunshine" position with the Women's Community Institute. She left behind many special Friends including Alice Johnson and Dale and Heather Barclay.

Mom lived her last four years at Magnolia Gardens, and the family would like to extend their appreciation to Pam, her staff and residents for their loving friendship (especially Lois).

Her service will be held Monday, July 30th, at 2:00 PM at the Milner Chapel.
