John Clark - obituary

In Loving Memory of John Clark Shave February 6, 1944 - April 3, 2018 Obituary It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our friend and family member, John Shave of Oakland Park Florida, after a short battle with cancer.

John was 74 years old, born on 2/6/1944 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was preceded in death by his parents Nellie Jane and Robert Shave and his brother, Bruce. John is survived by his sister, Marilyn Nishi of Hawaii, her children and their spouses and a grand-nephew: Mariko and Larry Harper; Brian, Leah and Kenji Nishi; and Jonathan Lossing,

John spent most of his years in South Florida. He was an accomplished jazz pianist and enjoyed writing, kayaking, and outdoor activities. He worked in the landscaping field, had a thorough knowledge of Florida’s horticulture and enjoyed the creative aspect of designing and implementing beautiful and environmental landscapes. He promoted water conservation and developed rain barrel water saving systems.

John's greatest pleasure came from environmental causes and he spent many volunteer hours with the Audubon Society and the Sierra Club. He also enjoyed being with his family in California, visiting scenic areas, including Yosemite and the Giant Sequoia Park.

John's cremation will be followed by a memorial celebration to be set for this July. Please contact his long time friend Celeste Peterson at (954) 304-4335 for information.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Audubon Society in memory of John.
