Dorothy Sweet was the youngest child of William and Nellie Sweet. She was born in 1908. Dorothy's parents divorced when she was young, so she lived with her grandparents, William and Tillie Harrington for awhile, and even moved to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan to live with her Aunt Margaret and Uncle Joseph Caulder when she was 9 years old. She was back living in Ludington, Michigan with her mom in 1920.

Dorothy married Charles Port on December 24, 1924 when she was just 16 years of age and he was 19. They had a son Harold in 1925 who lived just one day. They marriage did not last long as Dorothy was listed as divorced on the 1930 census. She and her sister Margaret were piston ring inspectors and staying with their older sister Ethel Bell and her family in Muskegon, Michigan.

There is not much more I have found about Dorothy. Possibly she was a teacher on the 1940 census, but that has not been confirmed.
