Ada Rose Wimhurst

Ada Rose was the first born child of John Charles Wimhurst and Ada Rose Matthews. She was born in 1884 in London, England, but moved at a young age out to Sussex and Surrey. She celebrated her 23rd birthday on board the Lake Erie as she was immigrating to Canada with her family. A couple of months after arriving in Canada she married Ernest Algernon Nicholl in New Liskeard, Ontario. Together they had two children, Leighton and Ethel. By 1916 they had moved to Vancouver, British Columbia. Ernest served in World War 1 in England, but had returned to Vancouver before the 1921 census. Ernest left for Australia, where he fought in World War 2 as a pilot. He died in 1949.

Prior to 1940 Ada married Fred Bailey in Walnut Grove, British Columbia. Both Fred and Ada died on October 27, 1952.
