The West Family

The West family is not the shortest family that I trace on this site, but it is pretty close. I think it is the last family to call Canada home, arriving in 1912.

It begins with Lewis Victor West immigrating to Canada pre-World War 1. His wife, Ellen, and two children soon followed him to Toronto where he had obtained a position in a factory. Three more girls were born in Canada. The family moved from Toronto about 1921. In 1935 Lewis, Ellen and Fred and probably Louise were living in Otter Lake Station near Parry Sound.

There are probably only six generations. Because most of the third and subsequent generations are still alive, this would be an exercise in social media rather than history to trace them all.
