Blaine Wood Harrington was the fifth child of six in William and Tillie's family. He was born March 29, 1885. He grew up in Charlevoix, Michigan.

Blaine travelled to Aberdeen, Washington to join his brother William in September 1907. William died the following June, so Blaine returned to Michigan.

Blaine was involved in the forming and command of the Michigan National Guard - Company "I" 33rd Infantry. After leaving the National Guard, he spent a few years working at various jobs before moving to Conklin in 1919 to work at a grist mill.

Blaine married Estelle Chaddock and had four children, though two died quite young. The family eventually moved to Muskegon, Michigan and settled there.

Estelle died October 27, 1952 at the age of 63. Blaine died August 3, 1959 at the age of 74. They are both buried in Rest Lawn Cemetery. He was survived by one son Harold.
