Sarah Wallis was born on January 1, 1739 in Hampden, Massachusetts. Her parents were Ebenezer Wallis and Mary Hull.

The Wallis family can be traced back to Cornwall, England having immigrated to New World in the 1600s. Sarah is also descended from the Balch family of Somerset, England who came to Massachusetts in the late 16th or early 17th century. Her ancestors also include family names of White, Gardner,  Frier, Lovell,  Ashford, Woodbury, Tenney, and Hull which seem to have arrived from all parts of England.

Sarah married Sgt. David Williams of Glastonbury, Connecticut in 1760.

Sarah died in 1821 in Ontario, Canada.
