This section traces the Clark family from James Clark and Jane Vance who lived in Hinchenbrook, Quebec, Canada in 1840 after immigrating from Ireland.

James died in South Pontiac, Quebec, after which the family spread out. Some of the children settled in Parry Sound, Ontario, while most of them moved cross border to northern Michigan. While some of those stayed in Cheboygan, Michigan, including mother Jane, others moved across the United States, with at least three of the brothers dying in California.
